You Clothe the Beggar
You never give up
Relentless and pursuing God
How can you continue to love me?
What is my heart
That you love it so?
When I examine myself
I am bewildered.
You prize me.
What is my righteousness?
What is my character?
Surly, I am like a beggar
Who after being clothed
In the kings garments
Went out and rolled in the mud.
I have not known the true value of your gift.
Yet you offer your love to me
Calling me your daughter.
God, I am yours
Help me to live as yours
Not as a beggar
May I in return
Be as you
Clothing the beggar
Remembering you clothed me.
