So Fare Behind Me

So Fare Behind Me

You're so fare behind me
I can't see you anymore
And I can't help but be thinking
I'm not sorry I closed that door

Not even a whisper
Or a breeze in my dreams
Not a vowel or a consonant
Any thing heard or seen

Closed eyes no longer haunted
No more retracing of each step
Shame is gone forever
I stopped holding my breath

You faded into the darkness
Time took you away
Where I thought I could not live
I now call home today

So, I can feel the wind
And, I can taste the sky
I melt into the sunshine
I live free of your lie.
